| Round 3: (21-27/7/97) Three Men versus the Flying Pig |
||
| What: (The unofficial title) |
The Three Men |
The Flying Pig |
| Where: | Corner of Swanston and Bourke Streets | The opposite corner of Swanston and Bourke Streets |
| Details: | As these guys stand looking incredulously at the world around them and waiting for a north-bound tram, you can usually see tourists snapping photos of them (I enjoy seeing how many peoples' holiday snaps you can get yourself into "inadvertently") - and locals making use of their rounded mouths to give them cigarettes. Heck why not, the chances of them getting lung cancer are pretty low considering they don't have lungs. | Half pig,
half albatross, the Flying Pig is handily located right
in front of a huge billboard space, probably the biggest
in the city (seen blank in this picture). The Pig is actually accompanied by a few other animals up there in the vicinity, but people usually notice the pig rather than any of the others. |
| The Result: | Well, the flying pig didn't do too badly, but eventually the three men outnumbered him and won the vote. | |
