Another one of those confusing sockets on the back of the computer, which is thankfully a different shape to almost every other socket, thus preventing you plugging your keyboard where your modem should go.
A concept whereby people download (or otherwise obtain) software for free, or for a nominal fee. They then try it out to see if they like it. They then keep it forever, unless they have a pang of guilt, or have a software allowance from their boss, or the nag messages are annoying enough, in which case they grudgingly send in the registration fee.
