Answer the questions truthfully

5 June 2006 by danielbowen

Why don’t you come out to our country and find out what the country is realy like and then answer the questions truthfully and then realy let the people know what Ausrralia is realy like. I realy admit there are idiots like yourself who do blow off out of their backsid like you just have but in all there just a real nice type of person to realy know—-can you say that for your fellow countrypersons they must realy be big (((ARESHOLES))) over there where you come from. ((((Is it cuch a Toxic Custard where you come from it must be from what has been said about other countrys)))) — Fraser, apparently in Australia

Wow. Well I’m sorry if you think I’m blowing out of my backsid.

People have accused me of a few things over the years, but never (that I recall) of not being in Australia.

(This is what you’re trying to say, isn’t it? It’d be a little clearer if the spelling and grammar were fixed up, and a bit of work on splitting your rant into separate sentences wouldn’t go astray either. And, you know, you’re not exactly advancing the view of Australians as a sophisticated, intelligent, erudite society.)

Assuming that’s the meaning of this, I should point out that I am an Australian, living in Australia. Located in Melbourne, been here most of my life. I’d look a bit silly doing a web site all about life in Australia if I didn’t live here, wouldn’t I?

As for whether the answers are truthful, well I do try, though I’ll grant you often I can’t resist a little bit of sarcasm along the way. A little good humour never hurt anybody. Well, not much.

Obviously a citizen of Nuff-Nuff land.
Kevin Sheedy was talking about them in an interview just the other day - referring to Collingwood supporters.

I definitely wouldn’t include this chap in that erudite group though.

Daniel, how could you be so insensitive - don’t you realise that there is a drought on? Items such as full stops and commas are nothing short of a luxury in these hard times.

I’ve just been reading through some of your category question/answer pages. I quite enjoy your sarcastic humour when you get asked a particularly ridiculous question. Thanks for making me laugh. :)

I agree with Camel Shoes - your comments never fail to cheer me up. The sarcastic ones makes me laugh every time, no matter how many times i’ve read them before! Thanks! I sure love a good laugh :-D

Sigh, another fine example of the lack of education in Australia.

Oh and by the way, Daniel is really an Australian who lives in Victoria.

Victoria is the state commonly refered to as Mexico by anyone living in Queensland because they are south of the border and flock up here in droves to escape the 4 seasons in one day weather.

Fraser is obviously NSW university educated as he can use three brackets at a time and capitals in between them.

Just found your site. Im an Aussie living in France, I get all these kinds of questions all the time about oz (some of them worse!)

I think your site is great, its been a real pleasure reading it and laughing although it has made me a tad homesick!
    Keep up the good work!

    PS Fraser, up yours!

    What a dumbass!!!
How can any Aussie think these questions aren’t being answered truthfully?
My guess is that he can read as well as he can write.
And by the way, I am offended by the jab at NSW educated people. Seriously, I did not think that was in any way funny.

All beaches in australia are “optional” topless. This does not mean the are nude beaches, strictly “topless” for women if they prefer to teke them off.
This is touted as equality, neither sex has to wear more than the other.

i’m an aussie from the bush. I recon this page is funny as hell! sure there are some questions that are answered without consideration to the rural part of the country (we really do walk around with no shoes on all the time!) but hey! this page is by a city slicker and so be it! if you want a rural australia page - MAKE ONE UP YOURSELF! i dont see you going to the effort!
